Crimpy little crinkle-cut-french-fry locks, dyed in a brilliant gradient rainbow pot - and aptly named Rainbow 42 for the answer to life, the universe, and everything! These locks would be super fun for felting projects, or as accents in weaving, or as an add-in for your spinning - the tips maintain their crimped appearance even after handling, and will separate easily from each other to allow for precise placement.
Sold in 2oz packages to ensure proper distribution of each color from the rainbow ?
Sheep info: Texel/Cotswold/Border Leicester cross lamb fleece from Carlisle, KY
Average lock length: about 2 inches.
Scoured with Unicorn Fiber Wash, dyed with professional-grade acid dyes. For the photo I opened up the locks a bit so you could see them better, but to preserve the lock structure your locks will arrive more compact. To use, simply pull gently to release a lock, or pick with your hands to fluff up the fibers. Picked fiber may then be carded, combed, or simply spun as-is for sheepy texture.
Classy Squid Fiber Co. fibers are designed to provide a wonderful spinning experience, but would also be gorgeous if used for felted designs or as accents in weaving. My Organic Polwarth wool is sourced from the Falkland Islands, UK, where the sheep are raised free of pesticides & chemicals in a pristine environment. Fibers are hand-dyed by me, Amanda, in my smoke-free, pet-free studio using professional grade acid dyes. I do my utmost to run my dyeing studio in an environmentally-friendly manner.
To care for your creations and avoid felting, hand-wash your items in warm (not hot) water with a mild wool wash such as Eucalan or Soak, without agitation, and allow to air-dry.
