My favorite base, soft and lovely Organic Polwarth, now available undyed. Great for dyeing experiments, spinning on its own, or as a ply partner to your other yarns - pristine white is sometimes just what you need! Of all the wool breeds I stock in combed top form, this Organic Polwarth is the closest to a true white right out of the bag. Polwarth has all the softness of Merino that new spinners love, but is much easier to draft - it has a longer staple length and is less "slippery" - and spins up into delightfully plump yarns.
Weight: Sold by the ounce; for reference 4oz is shown in the photos. Please select your total quantity of ounces in the quantity dropdown. Where possible wool top will be shipped in a continuous length (if ordering a pound or more this may need to be split up for ease of shipping).
Classy Squid Fiber Co. fibers are designed to provide a wonderful spinning experience, but would also be gorgeous if used for felted designs or as accents in weaving. My Organic Polwarth & Falkland wools are sourced from the Falkland Islands, UK, where the sheep are raised free of pesticides & chemicals in a pristine environment. Fibers are hand-dyed by me, Amanda, in my smoke-free, pet-free studio using professional grade acid dyes. I do my utmost to run my dyeing studio in an environmentally-friendly manner.
To care for your creations and avoid felting, hand-wash your items in warm (not hot) water with a mild wool wash such as Eucalan or Soak, without agitation, and allow to air-dry.
