Gorgeous and functional, chunky hand-dyed and hand-spun art-yarn skeins ready for your next project! Perfect for use in knitting, crochet, weaving, or other fiber arts.
Handspun out of soft and luxurious Polwarth wool with a wrap of silky rayon, producing a singles yarn with lots of fun texture. Each skein was then hand dyed in deep shades of navy, peacock, murky purples, greens, and rich browns. This colorway will truly go with anything - take an outfit of jeans and a t-shirt up a notch! Powlarth is next-to-skin soft, and although it is a singles yarn, the rayon wrap provides stability so that it is much stronger and more resilient than a typical softly-spun bulky single.
Each skein is between 4.5-5oz and 90-115 yards, 5-6 WPI (wraps-per-inch). This yarn can be knit at a variety of gauges depending on your project, and a single skein is plenty to make a beautiful hat, cowl, or other accessory. Three skeins of this dye-lot were dyed at one time, and this is a one-of-a-kind colorway.
Classy Squid Fiber Co. yarns are designed to provide a truly delightful crafting experience. My Polwarth & Falkland wools are sourced from the Falkland Islands, UK, where the sheep are raised free of pesticides & chemicals in a pristine environment. Fibers are hand-dyed by me, Amanda, in my smoke-free, pet-free studio using professional grade acid dyes. I do my utmost to run my dyeing studio in an environmentally-friendly manner.
To care for your creations and avoid felting, hand-wash your items in warm (not hot) water with a mild wool wash such as Eucalan or Soak, without agitation, and allow to air-dry.
