Shifting smoothly from white to charcoal black, from shine and sparkle to matte, Oyster presents an enticing double gradient for your spinning pleasure. The white section is composed of soft, natural wool blended with pure mulberry silk, firestar, and crystalline angelina; the charcoal section is composed of hand-dyed wool blended with carbonized bamboo. If you've never tried carbonized bamboo, it really is a unique spinning experience. Unlike its silky cousin, the carbonized form of bamboo is entirely matte, and rather than the fibers sliding past each other silkily, they grab and hold and will not fly out of your fingers. It is also antimicrobial and odor-resistant!

Classy Squid Fiber Co. batts are designed to provide a wonderful spinning experience, but would also be gorgeous if used for felted designs or as accents in weaving. My Organic Polwarth wool is sourced from the Falkland Islands, UK, where the sheep are raised free of pesticides & chemicals in a pristine environment. Fibers are hand-dyed by me, Amanda, in my smoke-free, pet-free studio using professional grade acid dyes. I do my utmost to run my dyeing studio in an environmentally-friendly manner.
To care for your creations and avoid felting, hand-wash your items in warm (not hot) water with a mild wool wash such as Eucalan or Soak, without agitation, and allow to air-dry.
