A luxurious blend of baby camel and cultivated silk, in equal measure, brought together to create a blend that I like to describe as "so soft you can barely even feel it". The gorgeous natural tones of the camel fiber, blended with white silk, create a beautiful, natural honey toned shade. Absolutely lovely on its own, and can be overdyed to create rich, warm hues.

Baby camel and silk can both be tricky fibers to handle on their own: silk, because it is very long and strong, can be tricky to draft; camel, because it is so soft and fine, can be a bit flyaway and require a very short drafting zone. However, in this blend, the best of both fibers is brought to the fore - the length of the silk makes the camel easier to handle, and the camel fibers add some bounce, elasticity, and memory to the silk. True luxury at its finest.

This listing is for 1 oz of combed top. To order more than once ounce, simply adjust your quantity using the drop-down above. Your fiber will be sent in a continuous length, regardless of the amount.

WARNING: These fibers are *incredibly* soft, and upon opening the package, may cause squeals of delight and uncontrollable urges to pet the fiber or hold it up against your face or neck for long periods of time. If you'd like to eventually spin the fiber, make sure you caress it gently during this phase so the fibers stay all aligned ;-)

Classy Squid Fiber Co. fibers are designed to provide a wonderful spinning experience, but would also be gorgeous if used for felted designs or as accents in weaving. My Organic Polwarth & Falkland wools are sourced from the Falkland Islands, UK, where the sheep are raised free of pesticides & chemicals in a pristine environment. Fibers are hand-dyed by me, Amanda, in my smoke-free, pet-free studio using professional grade acid dyes. I do my utmost to run my dyeing studio in an environmentally-friendly manner.

To care for your creations and avoid felting, hand-wash your items in warm (not hot) water with a mild wool wash such as Eucalan or Soak, without agitation, and allow to air-dry.
